When: October 6th 2017, starting 17:30
Where: Xebia Office, Wibautstraat 200, Amsterdam

In this new meetup group we start with sharing a “beginners-level” introduction of Vert.x. It's also a good moment to meet the group and we want to figure out what you want to learn and explorer about Vert.x as well!

The talks at this meetup are at a beginner-level. Anyone with or without Vert.x experience should be able to follow them. Our host for the meetup is Patrick van Marsbergen, our colleague from our webdevelopment team.

Talk 1: Building microservices with Vert.x
Bert Jan Schrijver, CTO at OpenValue, has his focus on Java, Continuous Delivery and DevOps. In his talk, Bert Jan will speak about the concepts behind Vert.x, why he and his team chose Vert.x, how they’re using it and the challenges they faced.

Talk 2: The future of Vert.x
Paolo Lopes, working at Redhat, is core-developer of Vert.x with main focus on the Web modules. He will talk about what will happen in Vert.x 3.5 and the upcoming challenges with Java 9 and Rx2.
