Xebia Academy offers two different training paths to become a Scrum Master - Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and Professional Scrum Master (PSM). Wondering which one to choose?
Both training paths provide a solid foundation in Scrum; its values, principles and the Scrum Master role. However, the Certified Scrum Master (CSM) training takes a slightly broader view; it looks at Scrum applications beyond a software development context. The Professional Scrum Master (PSM) training focuses primarily on software development.
Certified Scrum Master Training
After successfully completing the two-day CSM training, you’ll have 90 days (and two attempts) to take and pass the online exam to become a Certified Scrum Master. Certification gives you access to a renewable, two-year membership with ScrumAlliance. And, as a Certified Scrum Master (CSM), you can continue your educational development to become a Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), Certified Team Coach (CTC), Certified Enterprise Coach (CEC) and Certified Scrum Trainer (CST). Professional Scrum Master Training
After successfully completing the two-day Professional Scrum Master training, you’ll receive a password for PSM I assessment, and a PSM II assessment password at a discounted price. The passing score for the PSM I assessment is 85%. Should you, in any case, need to retry the assessment then Scrum.org offers a free second try. Scrum.org maintains a public list of all certified PSM I and PSM II holders. The Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification does not expire and you can continue your educational development to become a Professional Scrum Practitioner (PSP) and Professional Scrum Expert (PSE).
