Sabbatical

Have you always dreamed of taking a break for a longer period of time? Want to make an awesome trip, do something completely different? Do you find it difficult to realize this financially?

Let us help you out! As of 01.01.2022, it is possible to save attractively for your sabbatical at Xebia!

What are the rules of the game?

  • You can take a 3-month sabbatical once every 5 years.
  • You will be paid 50% of your wage over these 3 months.
  • Do you want to go on leave for a longer period of time? This can be done in consultation with your BUM. The remainder of your sabbatical will be unpaid leave.
  • Of course, we would like you to come back, we agree that you do this for at least 6 months.

How do you save for your sabbatical?

  • On a full-time basis you purchase 52 hours of sabbatical leave per year.
  • Sabbatical leave only costs 80% of your normal hourly wage, deductions can be spread out so that you notice it less.
  • The purchased hours are worth more with every wage increase because the hours taken at the time of your sabbatical will be at the current wage.

What happens if you leave before your sabbatical?

  • We would be very sorry!
  • You will be paid the sum of money you have invested when you leave employment.

    Please note, you will not receive the number of hours accrued against the hourly wage applicable at that time.


To guarantee the continuity of our business, you must determine the timing of your sabbatical in advance and in collaboration with your BUM.
