During Girlsday, technical companies, (non-)governmental organizations, and research institutes open their doors for 10-15 year old girls, in order to awaken/increase their interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
On 11 April 2019, 15 girls from the local school "Laar en Berg" in Laren will visit Xebia in Hilversum. This visit is part of the National Girlsday: an initiative of VHTO for girls from 10 to 15 years old with the aim to interest girls at a young age in science, technology and ICT.
To give an impression of the diversity in the profession "IT Consultant", Xebia has put together a varied program. The girls get the opportunity to
- participate in a game about the Agile way of working
- get to know the basics of Cloud technology, and
- get started with programming robots.
