Write down the scenarios that give your client energy. Usually, asking what will happen next is an iterative process which delivers expected organizational outcomes. Step-by-step, this path will lead you closer to your desire. Your result-driven growth hack when leading change:

  1. Find the pain(s)
    Find the top 3 pains of your (internal) client and have them prioritized, surface your client’s reasoning and analysis into coherent causes and effects, define baseline (how things are now) and metrics (how to measure).

  2. Flip the coin
    Start with pain number one, ask what client would like to have happen, client mentions the first next state of their organization and its perceived outcome(s), repeat this and take notes of client’s reasoning until desired state is described, possibly add expert alternative scenarios, define acceptance criteria for success.

  3. Follow the energy
    These scenarios map 1:1 to client’s pains; they feel the relief already just by describing their scenarios, have client explicitly prioritize the change scenarios, grow scenario until ‘done’ and validate success (against acceptance criteria).
