(Acceptance) testing is the most important aspect of software development. It not only closes the feedback loop in communication between IT and non-IT people, but it also gives you some trust that your software actually does what it is supposed to do.  Therefore, one should apply this practice regardless of the application stack.

Yet when new technologies surface, for instance by reading that certain blog post, or by attending that session at a conference or meetup, acceptance testing is seldom (‘hardly ever’) discussed. So, it is likely that acceptance testing is not addressed when the technologies are subsequently applied in practice/an industrial setting. that velocity is lowered and we NEED to focus on acceptance testing.

Join me for this open kitchen in which I will go into detail about the challenges we faced in (acceptance) testing serverless applications. The goal of this session is to build a Node AWS Lambda with a Gateway and acceptance test it with serenityJS. All this is orchestrated trough a Gitlab-ci pipeline with terraform.

So, if you consider applying these modern technologies for serverless applications, be sure to join this talk to learn how to setup (acceptance) testing right from the start.

Make sure you'll create an AWS & GitLab account (both for free) before you join this session.
