The advanced certified course for Scrum Masters

We're happy to announce that our certifying partner Scrum.org has launched advanced training for Scrum Masters and agile coaches with at least one year of experience who want to take it a step further.

The newly added Professional Scrum Master II (PSM II) course is for Scrum Masters to continuously improve by building experience, knowledge, and capabilities, as they help their teams and organizations succeed.

“We have spent years training people to become better Scrum Masters, and now it’s time to take what we’ve learned to help them continue improving,” says Ken Schwaber, Scrum co-creator, and Scrum.org Founder. “We are always inspecting and adapting with Scrum, and Scrum Masters do the same, gaining new techniques, insights, and ideas. There is always room to grow as both individuals and Scrum Masters.”

Improving skills

Where the Professional Scrum Master (PSM I) course focuses on how to use Scrum, the Scrum framework and the role of the Scrum Master, PSM II is an advanced course to help participants improve their Scrum Master skills to support their Scrum Teams.

Scrum is typically a change process, and as most Scrum Masters gain experience through ongoing change, it creates new challenges. This course helps them learn different ways to overcome those challenges. It dives into the qualities that characterize an effective Scrum Master and servant-leader while diving deep into how they serve the Scrum Team, and how to apply them to become better Scrum Masters. It also covers how the principles and values of Scrum help guide Scrum Masters in the decisions they make and how they can help change the environment of Scrum Teams and the organization within which they operate, creating an environment for agility to thrive.

Meet the trainers

The course at the Xebia Academy will be taught by Professional Scrum Trainers Evelien Roos, Laurens Bonnema and Jesse Houwing.

They draw from real-world practices while bringing their own style and experience to the training. During the course, there is room to discuss and tackle challenges that participants may be experiencing today or may in the future.

Certification by Scrum.org

 Just as any other training course by Scrum.org, this course offers certification as well. By following the training participants qualify to take the PSM II assessment exam, provided by Scrum.org.
