Summary

Serge spent the whole year of 2011 in a burn-out. Later that year, in our internal knowledge exchange he shared his experience, insights and tips, which became a popular talk. It became a standard part of the onboarding day of every new employee at Xebia.

The talk follows Serge's personal journey of his burnout, the causes, the symptoms, the root causes, and practical tips.

Speaker: Serge Beaumont

Serge BeaumontSerge Beaumont has been in IT since 1995 and working with agile since Kent Beck's XP book came out. He wrote one of the oldest unit testing frameworks, DelphiUnit, and was one of the founders of the XP-NL group (together with Vera, Pascal and a bunch of others).

Officially, Serge is a Certified Scrum@Scale Trainer, but he is also an Agile Coach and CSP. The career of this enthusiastic Scrum fan has always been a mix of Agile and software development (JEE/XP/Scrum). Until 2007, when he was contacted for his first Agile consultancy assignment. Now he focuses on the implementation of Agile at Albumprinter, Ericsson, Bol.com, Albert Heijn and Triodos Bank. Serge gives various Scrum courses, such as CSM, CSPO and Scrum@Scale.
